
The Supporting People Programme provides funding for housing related support in services such as hostels and other supported housing such as shared houses and individual tenancies. Commissioning and contracting takes place at a Local Authority level and is directed by the local Commissioning Body which is a partnership made up of the Local Authority, Health and Probation. Organisations contracts with the Local Authority acting on behalf of the all the commissioning partners.
The Supporting People managers and lead officers in Yorkshire and Humberside meet regularly and are developing the infrastructure and conditions for a Yorkshire and Humber regional market. This includes the following steps:
- A regional market analysis report looking at supply in the Y&H region (ADD REPORT DOWNLOAD HERE)
- Engagement with the Regional Procurement Centre of Excellence
- Benchmarking services across the region (ADD EITHER WEB LINKS OR 4 REPORT DOWNLOADS HERE – downloads preferred)
- Development of a Regional Outcomes System, led by Sheffield Supporting People team - the system manuals and IT are available at:
http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/safe--sound/supporting-people/regional-outcomes-system/rosyh-for-providers - Further market development throughout 2007 and beyond will follow and is likely to include shared preferred provider lists, contracts and pre-qualification questionnaire harmonisation, multi-authority joint contracting, etc.
